Fourth of July is (in our opinion) THE holiday of the summer. It’s mid-summer, there’s fireworks, and usually great food! It’s the perfect recipe for a party, but we all know that the best part of parties are the outfits, and Fourth of July outfits are no exception! America themed, campy outfits are always fun, but if you’re looking for something a bit classier, trendier, or even just something using clothes you already have, this post is for you! Remember, these are just for inspiration, so tweak these ideas to make them feel like you!

1. Sweet and simple
The first of our favorite Fourth of July outfits is a cute white dress paired with a denim jacket and red accents. The red cowboy boots and baseball hat give it a bit of extra Americana flair, especially with the denim, however you can always swap these out for a red headband and other shoes that fit your style more.
2. Red cowboy boots
We touched on these in the last outfit, but a pair of red cowboy boots, especially if they’re embellished, can carry your whole look. Denim shorts check the blue box and a white tee gives you your white element, the look is incredibly simple but still cute and has some personality through the boots.
3. Denim dress
Snag a classic denim dress to replicate the next of our Fourth of July outfits and add red and white accessories for a simple and fashionable option. The white boots look great here, but you can always sub these out with sneakers or a white sandal.
4. Classic Americana
The Ralph Lauren American flag sweater is peak Americana, it’s classic and easy to style. If you live in a chillier climate or will be out on the water for the Fourth of July, this sweater will give you a great start on a Fourth of July outfit. Cutoff denim shorts and tan cowboy boots lend the look a summer vibe and create a classic and chic patriotic look.
5. Old money vibes
If you’re going to something more elevated than your classic Fourth of July BBQ, try opting for white shorts and a red, white, and blue striped button down. The look is polished but still festive, delivering the Fourth of July color palette in a chic way.
6. Comfy cowgirl
The next of our Fourth of July outfits puts a different spin on red cowboy boots. Rather than go all in on a western style, this option features a graphic tee, denim vest, and slouchy red bag. The overall effect is casual, easy going, but still stylish and coordinated.
7. Red, white, and bloomers
If you’re feeling bold this year, try out some red gingham bloomers and a coordinated graphic tee and red cowboy boots. While we love the red and white scheme here, adding a pop of blue will help this read as a Fourth of July outfit. This is a trendy outfit formula that can also work with other types of shorts and shirts so you can try working with what you have on hand!
8. Gingham pants
If bloomers are a bit much for you, we have other gingham Fourth of July outfits to inspire you! Red gingham pants are the focal point of this outfit, adding interest to an otherwise straightforward look. Once again, if you’re adapting this for the Fourth of July, try incorporating blue, whether it’s through the shirt, hair accessories, shoes or bag.
9. Stripey pants
We are keeping the cool pants going with some French blue striped pants accompanied here with rich red sneakers and a graphic tee. It’s a cool, easy option that you can easily recreate with items you may already own, but if you opt to buy pieces these are highly versatile choices for your wardrobe.
10. Chic layers
Lean into denim with one of our favorite blue focused Fourth of July outfits. The shorts and jacket carry the look, accented by an American flag scarf, pops of red, and filled out with a white top and boots. It’s a patriotic look but isn’t tacky or cheap looking, which we love!
11. Blue and white
We are going deeper on denim with this next look, with the formula being somewhat similar to our last example. A cute mini skirt and jacket duo and white tank makes up the bulk of the look, with blue accessories rounding everything out to make a fun monochromatic option. To make this more America themed, try adding elements of red in. This could be a belt, lipstick, jewelry, or scarf!
12. Hair ribbons
Fourth of July outfits don’t have to be complicated! A white button up and blue jeans create a chic base, accented by red satin ribbons braided into the woman’s hair. It’s a fun an unexpected element that feels festive and timeless.
13. Classic denim skirt and vest
We are back again to denim sets and we aren’t apologizing about it! A dark denim skirt and vest lend a coordinated, put together aspect to the outfit, with the white shirt feeling clean and crisp. Red accents add some excitement and interest, as well as rounding out our red, white, and blue trifecta!
14. Classy and clean
Blue denim is a foundational building block in many of our Fourth of July outfits, it’s an American classic and it adds a blue element to your look! With this option, all you need is your trusty blue jeans and a red and white striped shirt to recreate a classic look perfect for a Fourth of July event.
15. Cute blue gingham
We’ve shown multiple options featuring red gingham, but blue gingham is another great option! We love that this top is off the shoulder, it’s a sweet and feminine cut that pairs well with the white denim shorts. This example leans into blue with the purse, but to make it more patriotic, swap that out for a sleek red bag!
16. Flowy maxi skirt
A white, flowing maxi skirt anchors the next of our Fourth of July outfits, setting the tone for a breezy, laidback look. A denim vest adds some structure to the outfit and a red purse completes the ensemble for a chic and timeless option!
17. Sporty sweater set
A sporty sweater set brings some preppy vibes to our Fourth of July inspo. Matching sets are an easy way to feel put together with minimal effort while maximizing impact. This set features an American flag, white feels very Ralph Lauren, a great choice for a summer party!
18. Preppy stripes
Whether you’re in the north or out on the water, if the nights get chilly where you are the American flag sweater is a great option! But this outfit opts for blue and white striped shorts and sandals rather than the cut off denim and cowboy boots we showed prior. These elements couple with the wicker bag create a northeast vibe that is clean and preppy.
19. Red accents
Okay, so we’ve used the phrase “red accents” more than any good writer should (we acknowledge it), but dang it, it works. Some Fourth of July outfits NEED red accents, they just do. This French blue button down and white shorts create a classic summer outfit, but a red sweater draped over the shoulders and delicate red shoes bring this into chic Fourth of July territory.
20. Little blue dress
Blue gingham is back! This time in the form of a dainty halter neck dress that feels like peak heartland fashion. The example uses white cowboy boots, but of course for Fourth of July, we’d recommend swapping these out with the usual suspect: red cowboy boots. A red headband would echo the red of the boots and tie the whole look together!
21. Graphic tee
Give minimal effort and get maximum cool with a red and white graphic tee paired with slouchy blue denim. You’re on theme in terms of color palette, but in one of our favorite laidback and effortless Fourth of July outfits. Pull up to the Fourth of July party in this and make everyone else wonder why they tried so hard.
22. Breezy matching set
A French blue and white striped matching set sets the scene for a chic look, but one you don’t have to try for. They’re also great because you can style both pieces independently, so they are incredibly versatile. All this option needs is a couple of red elements and you’re good to go!
23. Bold colorblock
A vibrant color block look is one of our most eye catching Fourth of July outfits, but also one that’s easy to make work for you. The formula is simple: red bottoms, blue top, and your shoes of choice. Or you can flip it and do a red top and blue bottoms! Either way, you’re bound to be chic. The oversized fit of these particular pieces makes this combo look effortless and breezy, so keep shape in mind when pulling this together.
24. Sporty chic
White shorts, red shoes, and a blue crew neck sweatshirt come together for a sporty, yet stylish option. While the combo is easily replicated, it’s best done when you pay attention to the details. Rolling the sleeves and accenting with jewelry takes the outfit to a more put together level without trying too hard.
25. Rugby shirt
A bold red and white rugby shirt and blue jeans hits all the right color notes for the last of our Fourth of July outfits. The rugby shirt makes the outfit lean sporty, but the crimson heels and blown out hair balances it with elegance to create an outfit full of contrast. If this exact look isn’t up your alley, try going with different shoes, a different cut of jeans, or different hair!
