1. Vintage (inspired) pants
Baggy pants are very on trend right now, so they make a great choice to incorporate into your game day outfits! Track pants, flare, bootcut, and straight leg jeans all add a nostalgic edge to your look. They pair well with tank tops, crop tops, and baby doll tees.
2. Petite mini skirts
Add a feminine flair to your look with a mini skirt or denim dress! We love the cargo style of the mini skirt shown here, particularly the belt as it adds interest to the outfit. The flirty top adds cute contrast to the cargo skirt, but you could also opt for tank tops, camis, or a cropped tee.
3. Breezy dresses
Cotton dresses are comfortable to wear and easy to throw on while still being cute, making them great game day outfits if you’re in a warmer climate. They work best if the color coordinates with your school colors and aren’t too formal. Sneakers add a sporty vibe we love, but you could also go with sandals in the summer or boots as the days get chillier!
4. Color coordination
So this one feels pretty self explanatory, but color coordination is an easy way to be game day ready without investing in school branded items. This is a perfect option if you’re trying to save money as you can go for pieces that you can re-wear to different occasions without looking like you just left a pep rally.
5. On theme onesie
One of the easiest game day outfits is a onesie in one of your school colors with something thrown on top. In this example, it’s a jersey, but you could also opt for a button down shirt, denim barn coat, or windbreaker!
6. Statement dress
We covered the simple cotton dresses, but a shorter statement dress makes a fun and flirty choice for game day if you are feeling bold. We love the animal print shown here, but florals, geometric patterns, and bold stripes could create a similar impact.
7. Cute cowboy boots
Cowboy boots are tried and true elements for many southern and western college game day outfits, but we honestly never get tired of them. They always look amazing paired with denim, but we also love them styled with the flowy white skirts shown here! When it comes to colors, we think brown or tan is a great place to start, but white ones are very trendy right now.
8. School spirit tube top
Tube tops are having a moment with the revival of the late 90’s and Y2K style, so they are a stylish choice. Cargo pants play well with them, as well as baggy jeans or track pants. The camo cargo pants go particularly well with this black top.
9. Matching bandana
So maybe your game day outfits aren’t really doing it for you right now or you’re low on pieces that coordinate with your school colors. Invest in a bandana that matches one of your school colors and throw it on with any outfit you want to jazz up! We love it styled with a denim dress here, you could wear it with a white tee and jeans, a tube top and cargo pants, the options are endless!
10. Pretty pastels
A pastel version of one of your school colors is a fun twist! It tends to look a bit sweeter, flirtier, and feminine than the fully saturated version. Pastels also generally work beautifully with white to create a look that feels fresh and light, which some people prefer.
11. Just the hats
Game day outfits really don’t have to be complicated! You can start with a great basic outfit like denim shorts and white tops and just throw on a hat. It’s a minimal look, but one that you can remix in a ton of different ways.
12. Fun matching set
Matching sets are undefeated for how simple they are to throw on. We also love that you can mix and match each element with other pieces to create even more options! The set could be branded with your school’s logos or just be in coordinating colors.
13. Nostalgic airbrushed shirts
Bring some 2000’s fun to your game day outfits with airbrushed shirts! Airbrushed shirts are often customizable and you can bring your own personality to the final product, which is our favorite part.
14. Simple corset top
A faux leather corset amps up game day attire for a bombshell look that we love every time. If you’re unsure of what bottoms to wear with it, we love the white denim mini, you could also opt for cargo pants, jeans, denim shorts, or even track pants!
15. DIY crop tops
Crop tops are a staple in many game day outfits and we’re here for it. Take some scissors to a college T-shirt and pair it with some fun bottoms for a classic and comfortable outfit. With a simpler crop top, we love the addition of statement pants to take the look up a notch.
16. Customized skirt
Adding a DIY flair to a denim skirt is a perfect way to make an outfit that feels uniquely you. Adding sequins, ribbons, fabric patches or even using paint pens are easy ways to add a personal touch to your look.
17. Bows on boots
Sometimes the fun is in the details for game day outfits and adding bows to your boots adds an extra touch that will only make your outfit look that much cuter! The best part about this idea is that this is a perfect chance to add some personality to your look through your choice of ribbon, whether it’s gingham, satin, striped, etc.
18. Football jersey
The jersey-denim short combo is time tested and is classic for a reason, but don’t be afraid to try out different bottoms. Cowboy boots, sneakers, or booties all make great shoe options for this classic look!
19. Emphasize the accent color
These two women have taken a fun route at an LSU tailgate. LSU’s colors are yellow and purple, and while most people dress in purple for games, these women’s game day outfits lean into yellow, which is typically the accent color. This makes a fun choice to stand out from the crowd and offers more options than going with the “dominant” school color.
20. School spirit accessories
When you go for simpler outfits, it can be fun to pump up your outfit with school spirit themed accessories like purses, headbands, or even belts. Adding accessories is not only easy, but can be more affordable long term because they jazz up standard clothes you can re–wear elsewhere.
21. Easy denim romper
The last of our game day outfits has actually made a few appearances throughout the list, and for good reason! Denim rompers and dresses are cute and easy foundations to build a game ready outfit around. When going this route, it’s helpful to add color coordinated accessories to bring in more of your school’s colors, but that’s half the fun!
