Summer is here and nothing seems to bring the sunshine in like a fresh flower arrangement! It’s the season of the sun and of sunflowers, so get inspired by a list of our favorite sunflower arrangements to channel the vibrant summer days in your apartment.
When designing your arrangements consider how colors, shapes, and textures work together to achieve the look you’re going for. Usually it’s best to start by placing the largest elements first and then moving down in size to ensure the space is filled to your liking.

1. Sweet and simple
The first option for sunflower arrangements keeps things sweet and simple. A cluster of sunflowers, bright and vibrant, are softened by the addition of baby’s breath, adding a gentle touch to the arrangement.
2. Hearts of gold
Chamomile daisies are a cheerful accompaniment to sunflowers! Yellow roses are interspersed throughout, adding a touch of class to the look. Greenery fills out the arrangement and balances out all the yellow to make an interesting and beautiful option!
3. Blue hue
We love sunflower arrangements that offer something unexpected! In this case it’s luscious blue hydrangeas that contrast beautifully off the golden yellow of the sunflowers. Blue thistle adds textural interest and chamomile daisies and greenery accent the look for a charming and unique arrangement!
4. Roses and baby’s breath
Cheerful sunflowers and elegant roses come together in this elevated option. Baby’s breath adds some textural and size variety for a classy choice that still has character.
5. Summertime cosmos
Daisies always seem so at home in sunflower arrangements, like two birds of a feather. In this case, purple cosmos set the whole thing off by adding colorful focal points for the eye to rest on.
6. Vibrant pinks
Peonies add stunning pinks amongst the variety of yellows offered by sunflowers, black eyed susans, and other yellow accents. Adding flowers of different sizes and textures will keep your sunflower arrangements interesting and the peonies break up the yellow beautifully without distracting from the central sunflower.
7. Pops of yellow
In this option the sunflowers act as the accent rather than the focal point amongst a wonderfully messy array of blue and white flowers. These look similar to larkspur, though this look is achievable with any flower frond with a lot of verticality and greenery. The key is to get the proportions right, you’ll want the sunflowers to be outnumbered!
8. A twist on a classic
Red roses are a staple in flower arrangements and bouquets, but they also make great additions to sunflower arrangements! Sunflowers liven up the romantic nature of the roses while baby’s breath adds an airy feel to the option as a whole.
9. Textural interest
We’ve brought up texture a few times already but we can’t overstate how much of a difference it can make, especially in sunflower arrangements where many elements are similar colors. Green hydrangeas and chamomile daisies provide a tight texture to break up the larger forms of the greenery, tulips, and sunflowers. If everything was the same visual size and texture there would be nowhere for the eye to land.
10. Green goodness
This option showcases a chic unruliness we can’t get enough of. It’s perfectly undone, effortlessly elegant in its chaos. The sheer amount of greenery is the biggest notable aspect, without that mass it wouldn’t have the same effect. Tinges of white and yellow hearken back to the sunflowers and break up the greens in a subtle way.
11. Layers of yellow
Sometimes monochromatic flower arrangements are the way to go and this is especially fun with sunflower arrangements! Sunflowers, hydrangeas, chamomile daisies, and yellow roses make up this option, layering yellow and white elements to create a joyful arrangement sure to brighten up any room!
12. Pink and gold
The delicacy of pink roses make them a sweet addition to bouquets and flower arrangements. When paired with sunflowers the effect is whimsical and feminine!
13. Summer blues
Don’t forget to check out contrasting colors for your sunflower arrangements, the variety of blues in this example give it a potent visual impact! Hydrangeas, blue and white roses, and other blue and white accents are interesting in their own right, but they also make the sunflowers pop even more than they normally would due to the contrast!
14. Muted tones
Soft silver grays, dusty lavenders, and antique whites and yellows all give these arrangements a muted tone that allow the sunflowers to take center stage. Also note how small most of these elements are, the large sunflowers stand out even more not only because of their color but also their size.
15. Wildflower inspired
Sunflower arrangements always carry an element of fun (at least to us) but this one’s eclectic feel makes it feel even more so! Flowers of all colors and sizes spill out of the vase, though the sunflowers stand out due to their sheer size. Keep this in mind when selecting and arranging your flowers!
16. Yellow on yellow
Sweet black eyed susans accompany their larger counterparts to create a joyful explosion of yellow and green. We particularly love the yellow vase that continues the monochromatic theme, though this would also look great in a clear or contrasting vase!
17. Sunset inspired
The last of our sunflower arrangements, this option channels the warmth of a summer sunset with vivid red and yellow roses and bright sunflowers! We love that they kept it simple with just two floral elements, that allows the potent colors to really sing without overwhelming the eye.
