We love candles as much as the next person, but there’s something about a diffuser that is so satisfying. You have so much customization on scents and we love that there’s no fire safety issue if you leave or fall asleep, so they’re particularly great for college.
If you own a diffuser and are looking to get in the fall mood, check out 16 of our favorite cozy fall oil blends! If you don’t own a diffuser, put one on your Christmas wishlist because you’re missing out!

Ready Made
Our first eight scents are ready made and you can buy them online for a quick way to refresh your apartment for the fall. Remember to store these in a cool dark place to prevent the oil from degrading.
1. VINEVIDA Leaves
Starting off strong with VINEVIDA’s Leaves. Lemon and cedar pop first, with musk, pine, and spiced fruit adding a rich, complex body that is perfect for fall.
2. AromaTech Vanilla Bourbon
Vanilla, amber, and bourbon come together for a rich, nostalgic oil blend that we can’t get enough. It carries a fine balance of musk and sweetness so it doesn’t read as cloying but it keeps its warmth.
3. Eden’s Garden Autumn Air
Autumn Air is a somewhat “green” blend with an edge of spice. Eden’s Garden describes it as “a leafy, calming blend”, it has a touch of camphor to it, so if you don’t love camphor beware.
4. The Body Shop Salted Caramel
Another gourmand scent for our list of fall oil blends! The Body Shop brings Salted Caramel & Caramel to the table, a smooth, indulgent scent that is evocative of the same sweets it’s named after. It’s quite sweet, so if that’s not your favorite, consider an alternative.
5. AromaTech Holiday Spice
Holiday Spice captures the joy and festivity of fall deepening into winter. It’s an inviting blend of apples, cinnamon, and tangerine, it’s spicy and warm and perfect for cool autumn nights.
6. Good Essential Chai Tea
Who doesn’t love a chai tea latte? This blend gives you all the joy without any of hassle of buying a chai tea latte (who are we kidding here, we love doing that). We’re basically helping you save money. You should be thanking us.
7. AromaTech Leather & Tobacco
AromaTech has come through with some of our fall oil blends this year and they did not disappoint with Leather & Tobacco. While it’s not technically a designated “fall” scent, we think the luxe decadent notes of vanilla, leather, tobacco, and brandy create the perfect warm scent for fall. Balsam and cedar provide a woody base that keeps this blend fresh and comforting.
8. P&J Pumpkin Pie
Perhaps the most classic of fall oil blends, P&J brings us a classic pumpkin pie fragrance oil. We love the balance of spice and sweet in this oil and this is a great fall staple to amp up the cozy vibes as the days get shorter.
DIY
We’ve also gathered some recipes in case you want to make your own fall oil blends. If this is your first time making a blend, we recommend going for organic, ethically sourced essential oils and feel free to alter them to suit your tastes. Also remember to store your essential oil blend in a dark, air tight bottle to prevent leakage and deterioration.
9. Pumpkin Spice
- 1 drop clove
- 1 drop nutmeg
- 5 drops cinnamon
A DIY take on a fall classic! It’s simple, easy, and hits all the main notes of pumpkin pie spice. Feel free to tweak the recipe to your taste or add notes like orange or lemon, but we love this holiday spice blend as is!
10. Crunchy Leaves
- 4 drops frankincense
- 3 drops cedarwood
- 2 drops pine
- 2 drops eucalyptus
Woody, fresh, and complex, we love the notes in this blend. Cedarwood and pine give this scent its wood notes and eucalyptus enhances the freshness of the pine. Frankincense adds depth to this fall oil blend and lends it a more autumnal vibe.
11. Spiced Chai Tea Latte
- 3 drops cardamom
- 2 drops cinnamon
- 2 drops clove
- 1 drop ginger
This spiced chai tea latte fall oil blend is perfect because it’s not overly sweet but still delivers the essence of a chai tea latte. Cinnamon and clove bring typical fall notes while ginger and cardamom take it one step further to channel chai.
12. Harvest
- 3 drops cedarwood
- 2 drops frankincense
- 3 drops sweet orange
Cedarwood and orange combine to make a fresh, woody scent. The two drops of frankincense lend the scent depth and an undercurrent of spice that plays well off the orange and cedarwood.
13. Sweater Weather
- 5 drops sweet orange
- 4 drops frankincense
- 1 drop ginger
The frankincense in this fall oil blend gives it a spiced, heady base. Orange lightens it up and the single drop of ginger energizes it to create a rich, complex scent for fall.
14. Orange Cinnamon Buns
- 3 drops orange
- 2 drops cinnamon
- 2 drops cardamom
This gourmand scent evokes orange cinnamon buns. Rich, spiced, and fruity, it’s a great option if you’re looking for a comfort scent this fall.
15. Crisp Breeze
- 2 drops lemon
- 2 drops orange
- 2 drops balsam fir
This bright blend is invigorating and fresh. The lemon brightens while the fir and orange give the oil blend a festive and cozy feel.
16. Falling Leaves
- 3 drops bergamot
- 2 drops lavender
- 4 drops clary sage
We love the floral, plant-y nature of this blend, it’s refreshing and light and a good change of pace from typical fall scents.
