1. Modern rustic
This tablescape strikes the perfect balance of rustic and clean, leaning on white pumpkins and candles wrapped in birchbark to make up the bulk of the setting. Foliage in a variety of greens and textures and gold balls fill out the tablescape and add interest. Burlap possets of wildflowers enhance the rustic flair and contrast with the gold cutlery.
2. Bohemian flair
Copper, sage, and rust work together to create a beautiful autumn palette for this tablescape. The centerpiece itself remains simple while most of the interest comes from the sage green napkins interplaying with the layered dishware. The copper votives and rust foliage contrast well with the green and create a field of color that makes the white candles stand out.
3. White and gold
Minimalists will love this concept as it relied on only three colors: gold, green, and white. Keeping the color palette simple allows the tablescape to read as coherent and elegant. Keeping the foliage the same type of leaf contributes to this, though adding more variety it will create a more eclectic effect while still reading as understated.
4. Dark and refined
Using black and dark orangey coppers will lend your space a moodier vibe. The clean lines of the dishware adds an element of refinement and the bouquet being one species allows the color palette to shine. The different heights of the candles lend the tablescape a hint of informality, almost an undoneness that only makes it feel more chic.
5. Pumpkin tray
It doesn’t get much more straightforward for a fall tablescape than pumpkins in a tray. The tray helps the pumpkins feel contained and organized despite them varying in size and color. Eucalyptus rounds out the setting and softens it up a bit.
6. Maximalist color
If you have no interest in words like “clean”, “minimalist”, or “simple” this is a great option for you. It boasts tons of personality and is still easy to put together. The two critical points will be finding your candles and decorating your pumpkins to your taste. After that it mostly comes down to arranging all the elements as desired.
7. Clean and understated
This is an ideal option for smaller tables as it relies on the contrast of the rust against the white tablecloth for its main point of interest. The flowers and candles round it out, but they are delicate and well distributed so as not to be too distracting. The small plates and rustic details amplify the refreshing straightforwardness of this design.
8. Rust linen
While both this and the last option both feature rust colored linens, the detailing gives them completely different feels. Raw edges, wood table, and unruly eucalyptus give this tablescape a more laidback, almost undone vibe that will be sure to make any room feel homier. A very small detail that we love is the use of off white candles rather than pure white, which would have felt jarringly stark in this otherwise warm tablescape.
9. Blue and white
Blue, white, and wicker, a classic combination. This design hinges on the idea that more is more, using patterned dishes, a patterned tablecloth, and wicker and woven pumpkins of all sizes. A nice feature is that the wicker pumpkins play off the wicker placemats and keeps the visual stimulation from getting out of hand.
10. Just pumpkins
Does anyone else have a problem overcomplicating things sometimes? This tablescape will take you back to basics by letting pumpkins be the star of the show. Here they are styled sitting atop a runner and flanked by foliage to create a simple yet effective tablescape while the greens, beiges, and oranges deliver that classic autumnal feeling.
11. Foliage upfront
White candles and pumpkins of all sizes trail down the table, interspersed with a variety of fresh greenery. It’s simple, elegant, and timeless. Copper mugs add shine to the ensemble without being overwhelming and the wooden boards beneath the plates highlight the rustic undercurrent of this design.
12. Showcase china
Many of us have china passed down to us that never gets much use. This tablescape is its time to shine. All of the china is kept to blue and white for cohesion, rattan chargers play on the East Asian motifs of the china, and the soft coloring of the tablecloth breaks up the visual space without distracting the viewer from the stunning china.
13. Fall foliage
Table runners are great for breaking up the space of the table and tying multiple elements together. In this case, the runner unites the main vase, candlesticks, and smaller vases to make the space appear more full. The gray-blue of the runner and glasses plays off the orangey brown of the foliage, proving once again that you can’t go wrong with complimentary colors.
14. Cottagecore florals
Fall is the perfect time to celebrate the flowers soon to pass in a last hurrah. This tablescape leans heavily on flowers of all shapes and sizes, forming an almost solid row along the length of the table. Candles are interspersed to add that quaint charm and warmth that signals the beginning of fall. Though there are only two main elements, they make a large impact due to their quantity.
15. Votives and eucalyptus
Easygoing and easily personalized, this is a great idea for those not looking to make a huge financial investment in a fall tablescape. Votives of all shapes and sizes are sprinkled in amongst rambling fronds and stems on top of a simple white runner. This set up allows for easy incorporation of votives and candles you already have on hand and any kind of greenery you like.
16. Green and white
Though perhaps less well known than blue and white, green and white is another classic color scheme to try this fall. This design goes all in with patterned napkins, tablecloth, and vases. Wicker chargers break up the patterning and provide a break for the eye and the solid green candles draw the eye up away from the business of the table.
17. Fruit and flowers
This combination of fruit and flowers creates a feeling of fall bounty that is hard to get enough of. Rich burgundies and greens are brightened by pops of orange and the copper mugs scattered on the table. The striking candelabra in the center features burgundy tapers that heighten the drama of the dark color palette against the light wood of the table.
18. Wood chargers
This fall tablescape goes easy on the centerpieces, opting instead for small fruit and delicate candles. Beefy wood chargers take center stage and deliver a lot of bang for your buck. Using a single dominant element like this allows other elements to remain simple and understated, creating a balance between curation and carefree.
19. Plaid
All plaid everything for this fall tablescape. This neutral plaid is dynamic and striking just by sheer visual volume, covering the table and making another appearance in the form of napkins. Flower arrangements provide some visual respite from the pervasiveness of the plaid and the wooden candlesticks and beige tapers add height without feeling too jarring next to all the browns of the fabric and florals.
20. Moss (Cottagecore?)
Release your inner wood sprite and use moss for your tablescape this fall. Poke your desired (and ideally, foraged) twigs and greenery into the moss and top with candles and pinecones to create the woodland tablescape of your dreams. If you are recreating this indoors, we’d recommend placing the moss on plastic wrap to prevent staining or unwanted dirt transfer. Also, does this qualify as cottagecore?
